Inside – Out: Capturing the Serenity of Silver Island Yoga

Tucked away in a small corner of the Aegean sea, Silver Island or Argyronisi is a secluded Mediterranean paradise that hosts quite a unique function: an all-inclusive, Greek yoga retreat.

In 2013, the Christie family and owners of Silver Island, decided to transform it into a place for rejuvenation and mindful living.

Following the 10 year mark since Silver Island Yoga opened, we set out (on a tiny white boat) to photograph it.

The experience of being on an island with a handful of people counted on the fingers of one hand was extraordinary.

Leaving behind the bustling sounds of the city and arriving in a place where its serenity and calmness allowed us to almost hear our own thoughts, truly inspired us.

Wanting to faithfully capture the essence of this island, we used doors, windows and thresholds as our apertures, to photograph this unique blend of a remote unspoiled landscape and the architecture that emerges from it.
